Water Rates Public Hearing 9/10/18 at 7pm

There will be a public hearing at the Ford River Township Hall at 3845 K. Road, Bark River, MI 49807 on September 10th, 2018 at 7pm.  The public hearing will be held during the regular Board Meeting, to discuss the following proposed changes to the resolution establishing water rates and usage.

Proposed changes:

  • Water rate for residential use to increase from current rate of $39 for the first 5,000 gallons to $49 for the first 5,000 gallons. Overages shall increase from current $3.90 to $12.00 per 1,000 gallons of overage.
  • Water rate for commercial use to increase from current $41 for the first 5,000 gallons to $51 for the first 5,000 gallons.  Overages shall increase from current $7.80 to $19.50 per 1,000 gallons of overage.
  • Reconnection free for turn on of a delinquent or shut off due to nonpayment will increase from $40 to $45.
  • The security deposit shall be held for 12 consecutive months instead of the current 24 consecutive months. 
  • The billing cycle shall reflect bills to be due the 20th of each month as stated on the bills instead of the 25th listed in the resolution.

Dept. Army Corps of Engineeres 8/1/18 Meeting at the Escanaba Civic Center

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is having an outreach event entitled, "Waterways, Wetlands, and You!"  The event includes a presentation providing an overview of the Corps Regulatory Program.  Topics include permit requirements for structures, work and placement of dredged or fill material in wetlands and waterways: information on applying for permits; and services that the Corps Regulatory Office provides to the public.

Outreach event will be held 8/1/18 at 9:30 am at Escanaba Civic Center, 225 North 21st Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.

Planning Commission Public Hearing 7/5/18 7:00pm

Notice to the residents and property owners of Ford River Township, Delta County, MI.

Please be advised that there will be a public hearing of the Planning Commission on Thursday,  July 5th 2018 at 7:00 pm at the Ford River Twp. Hall, 3845 K. Road, Bark RIver, MI 49807, for two special use permit requests.

1) Gerry Wilson, 009-123-014-00, Section 22 T37N R24W, Address: 1016 Hwy M-35, Bark RIver, MI 49807.  Request is for (1) 48'x80' Garage for storage,

2) Corey Hanson, 009-060-075-10, Section 10 T38N R23W, Address: 4099 M Road, Escanaba, MI 49807.  Request is for (2) 40'x200' self storage warehouses, total of 88 units.

 

Anyone wishing to give testimony will be given an opportunity to be heard.  Written testimony will be accepted until 48 hours prior to the scheduled meeting by the Zoning Administrator.  Copies of proposed site plans are available for inspection.

Penokie Special Use Permit Appeal to the Zoning Board of Appeals- 6/19/18

The Zoning Board of Appeals will have a public hearing, Tuesday May 19th, 2018 at 6pm at the Township Hall (3845 K. Road, Bark River, MI 49807).  The purpose of the hearing is an appeal request for the approved special use permit for Ten Acre Woods, LLC/Darrell Shann.

Public Comment will be heard.  Anyone wishing to review the site plan should contact the Zoning Administrator at 399-6411.
