Playground being worked on in June

6/19/18 Update:  Woodchips are delivered and we are spreading them.  It will take a few days for the playground to be completed and fence put back up.  While equipment is running, nobody can be on the playground.

Update: The woodchips will be delivered Monday 6/18/18.  The playground will be closed while the chips are added and spread.

The playground tentatively will be worked on the week of 6/11/18.  New borders are being installed along with additional wood chips. 

Delta County Township Association Raffle Ticket for 911 Emergency Signs

The Ford River Township Board has raffle tickets for sale.  Funds collected from the raffle stay  go towards the cost of purchasing 911 emergency signs for the Township. 

Tickets cost $5.00 each or three for $10.00.  Drawing will be held 7/26/18.

Tickets are also sold at The Ford River Pub & Grill, Breezy Point Bar and Meister's Party Store.

Ford River Bridge Restoration Projet

Ford River Bridge Restoration Project Starts Monday

Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing $1.2 million to restore two bridges on US-2/US-41 and M-35. Work on the US-2/US-41 bridge over the Ford River near Hyde in Delta County will begin on May 14 and be completed by the end of June.

Then, the contractor will move to the M-35 bridge over the Cedar River in Menominee County. The projects will include replacing pins and hangers, painting, and deck patching. All work will be completed by early October.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:
One lane will be open in alternating directions with temporary traffic signals.

SAFETY BENEFITS:
These projects will help preserve the overall condition of the structures while improving safety and increasing ride quality on the bridges.

Penokie Special Use Permit Appeal- Public Hearing 5/15/18 at 6pm-Meeting has been cancelled

Meeting has been cancelled due to lack of quorum; family emergency. The meeting is rescheduled for Tuesday 6/19/18 at 6pm.

The Zoning Board of Appeals will have a public hearing, Tuesday May 15th, 2018 at 6pm at the Township Hall (3845 K. Road, Bark River, MI 49807).  The purpose of the hearing is an appeal request for the approved special use permit for Ten Acre Woods, LLC/Darrell Shann.

Public Comment will be heard.  Anyone wishing to review the site plan should contact the Zoning Administrator at 399-6411.

Doyen Special Use Permit-Public Hearing 5/3/18 7pm

The Planning Commission will have a public hearing Thursday 5/3/18 at 7pm at the Township Hall (3845 K. Road, Bark River, MI 49807) to hear the special use permit request of Dan & Theresa Doyen.  The request is to run a greenhouse business on I Road in Ford River Township.

Public comment will be heard.  Anyone wishing to review the site plan can contact the Zoning Administrator at 399-6411.
