The Ford River Township Board is seeking bid requests for snowplowing.
Bids must be quoted per line:
Snow plowing of the Township parking lot, located at 3845 K. Road, Bark River, MI 49807.
Snow plowing for the water tower: from the gate to the well house
Salting, when needed
Bids must be labeled “Snow Plowing” and must be received by 11/7/18.
The Ford River Township Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularities or informalities of the bids, to disregard all non-conforming or conditional bids and to accept any bid, consistent with law, which will serve the interests of the Township.

There will be a public accuracy test at 9am on 10/23/18 at the Township Hall.

There is an election inspector meeting Monday October 8th at 6:50 pm at the Township Hall. This meeting takes place immediately before the Township Board Meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to select and approve the election inspectors.

There will be a public hearing of the Ford River Township Planning Commission on Thursday, October 4th 2018 at 7:00pm at the Ford River Twp. Hall, 3845 K. Road, Bark River, MI 49807 to hear the following case:
Ten Acre Woods, LLC.,Darryl Shann application for conditional use special permit, for property in Ford River Twp. Delta County, MI. Property description and location; Section 10, T38N R23W, property tax ID# 21-009-060-035-00. Address 4398 L.25 Lane, Bark River, MI 49807. Applicant is requesting to run a woodworking/handyman business. Per article D, section 308 of the Ford River Twp. Zoning Ordinance.

NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS ON THE FORD RIVER TOWNSHIP WATER SYSTEM
There will be a routine maintenance hydrant flushing to improve water quality during the week of October 22nd and October 26th, 2018.
There is the possibility of rusty colored water in your tap due to the annual flushing process. Although aesthetically unpleasant, there are no health hazards with this water. The Ford River Water System would ask you to refrain from laundry if you notice coloration. If you notice coloration, flush from a cold water source such as your outside hose.

At the 9/10/18 Township Board meeting, a public hearing was held for water rate increases.
The Township Board approved rate increases, effective 11/1/18. All water customers will receive a letter explaining the increases along with a copy of the updated resolution establishing rates and charges for public water system usage,
Rate Increases:
Residential Rates: The base rate goes from $39 to $49, for up to 5,000 gallons. The residential overages per 1,000 gallons goes from $4.00 to $12.00.
Commerical Rates: The base rate goes from $41 to $51, for up to 5,000 gallons. The commercial overages per 1,000 gallons goes from $7.80 to $19.50.
Other Changes:
The basic connection/reconnection charge for a shut off due to nonpayment increase to $45 from $40. This is only for non payment connection/reconnection.
Security Deposit: Changes from the length of time from 24 to 12 consecutive months.
Billing Cycle: Payments shall be due without penalty due no later than the 20th day of the month of billing.
The Township Board understands rate increases are difficult, however it needed to be done to maintain the system.
The clerks letter will go out in the next couple of weeks.
The exterior of the Township Hall will be updated this month. Boards will be added, the exterior will be pressure washed and stained. The staining will start September 24th.
Bear with us this month, during this process the exterior of the hall will look worse before its completed.
